How (and Why?) Did I Become the Nonprofit Nomad?
Hi there! I’m Erin, and I’m the owner of Nonprofit Nomad. I am living a life I never imagined for myself: not only am I traveling full-time in an RV, but I also own my own business.
My husband and I have dreamed for more than a decade of traveling the entire United States. Our travels instead consisted of short jaunts, often related to work, that we jammed into weeks off. In the meantime, I built a career in university and nonprofit performing arts, executing artistic programming through fundraising, project management, and operations.
But after some life-changing events that forced us to reevaluate our priorities, we decided that we want to live the life we want now rather than waiting. So we left our sticks and bricks home for a life on the road. Sometimes that will mean being in one place for one night, while other times we might stick around for weeks or months at a time.
What this lifestyle change means for me professionally is that I’m able to launch a business based anywhere – and given my experience in the nonprofit performing arts, I’m thrilled to be able to serve you, my arts colleagues around the country!
